About Castaways Cottages & Campground Castaways Cottages and Campground is a locally-owned Indigenous business with properties right on the southern shore of Great Slave Lake. We are 10 minutes from the town of Hay River in the Northwest Territories, and all year with 4-season private cottages and seasonal tours. These spacious 3-bedroom cottages have three queen-size beds and comfortably accommodate up to six guests, providing a relaxing and cozy atmosphere during your stay. Each cottage includes a full bathroom, a fully equipped kitchen, a washer and dryer, and outdoor space for socializing, enjoying some solitude, and is the perfect spot to watch for northern lights.
