Tarahill

Tarahill Cairn Terriers is a thoughtfully run, home-based Cairn Terrier breeding program operated by Karen McClean in Okotoks, Alberta. With more than 16 years of experience in the world of Cairns, Karen’s deep love for this spirited, hardy breed guides every aspect of her breeding and puppy-raising practices. Cairn Terriers are known for their lively intelligence, independent spirit, and joyful companionship — traits that Karen embraces and nurtures through careful, selective breeding and in-home socialization. Tarahill produces Canadian Kennel Club (CKC)– registered puppies from parents selected for temperament, structure, and versatile performance. Karen follows the Puppy Culture™ model, ensuring that youngsters are raised with early development foundations that build resilience, confidence, and readiness for life with their new families. Each Tarahill Cairn Terrier lives as a valued member of the family and is involved in a variety of activities beyond the home, including dog sports, performance events, and conformation showing. Karen’s own dogs have earned titles in multiple disciplines, reflecting both quality breeding and a commitment to providing her dogs with engaging, enriched lives.
