MonDia Bernese

Why this breed

We were drawn to Bernese Mountain Dogs by their beauty and their reputation of being good family dogs. Our first Berner, Daisy, joined our family in 2021 and she proved all we had heard to be true. Big, lovable and goofy - we knew this was our forever breed. Also around that time we began working with a breeding mentor and learning about the importance of health testing and the work happening to preserve this breed and improve their health and longevity. We decided that we wanted to be a part of this effort. Liv joined our family in 2022 and we spent the next three years showing her and completing her health testing in preparation for her first litter. In the spring of 2025 we welcomed our first litter at MonDia Bernese. It was such a privilege to be able to share our love for this breed with six new families and to be a part of their story as they fell in love with their puppies.

What sets us apart

Completing all the recommended health testing and starting the puppies off on the right foot with early neurological stimulation is very important, but we believe what sets our program apart is the relationship we strive to build with our puppy families. Offering a lifetime of support to our puppies with advice on all things related to Berners (training, feeding, grooming, etc.) to our "puppy-back commitment" to simply sharing photos and those special moments throughout their lives.

Homes we look for

Though a working breed, Berners can still thrive in an urban environment with daily exercise and opportunities to "work" through obedience, dog sports and therapy work. Bernese are people dogs - they want to be with you all of the time!
