About Rocky Mountain Entlebucher Sires
Purposeful breeding.
Lifetime commitment.
We have devoted more than 30 years to the Entlebucher Mountain Dog, the smallest and rarest of the four Swiss Mountain Dog breeds. Known as the 'Laughing Dog of the Swiss Alps', they are naturally confident, agile, alert, and watchfully protective family members who thrive as active companions. Our journey began in 1995 with a puppy from the first pair registered in Canada. Since then, each Entlebucher who has shared our lives has deepened our love and commitment to these remarkable dogs. While we do not breed litters ourselves, we are proud owners of a male from established European lines, whose parents are both show champions. As a proven sire, he is held to the highest standards, ensuring that every breeding prioritizes health, temperament, and conformation to produce exceptional puppies. Our focus is to preserve the Entlebucher Mountain Dog through responsible breeding and support for the Entlebucher community.
Breeder Philosophy
How we breed — and why.
Why this breed
We chose the Entlebucher for its exceptional intelligence, deep loyalty, and beautiful tricolor markings. We love all of their traits, as mentioned above. Their manageable size and low-maintenance coat make them an effortlessly versatile working dog. They are the ultimate beautiful, intellectual, devoted family dog who will do everything with us.
What sets us apart
With over 30 years of breed devotion, our approach is entirely non-commercial. Instead of whelping litters, we focus completely on premier stud services from a health-tested sire line, offering total transparency to preservation breeders.
Homes we look for
We partner with approved, responsible breeders who vet and select their placement homes.
