About Eden Trail Australian Cobberdogs

We are a home based program. This breed is still considered to be in development so it is extremely important to me that we choose our pairings with intention. Health, diversifying DNA bloodlines, calm temperaments. These are big priorities for us. Since I am still building my program and adding new pups slowly, it’s in my best interest to be careful and responsible with all my testing, ensuring I have excellent dogs to breed.

Why this breed
I love the breed. I am passionate about Cobberdogs and the incredible pets they make. They have been bred to make excellent therapy and service dogs. I think there are so many dogs bred irresponsibly, Back yard breeders that are willing to sell to anyone, dogs being given up for adoption, etc. I wanted to offer something different. I wanted to help continue to introduce this breed to Canada. It’s very popular in Europe and Australia but still quite new to Canada. I work closely with my mentor out west who also breeds and has years of experience.
What sets us apart
Well, aside from it being a new breed, I offer what I hope many of your breeders offer. I am committed to being ethical in the choices I make in our program, I offer support to families, I continue to educate myself and pay very close attention to the health and well being of our dogs.
Homes we look for
Families that have been researching dogs and considering which breed would be the best suited for them. Families that have a healthy work life balance, with members who are home and able to provide a happy and safe place for their pup. Fenced yards, lots of opportunities to socialize and have their dog be a healthy part of their community. Please note - my photos can’t be uploaded at this time as the option doesn’t seem available. Program notes
We are small and home based. Puppies are raised with my family present and all the regular house routines that take place. We perform ENS on our pups, work on socialization and desensitization in stages based on their age. It’s very important to use that we raise confident pups with even temperaments. We expose them to new sensory experiences as they age. Crate training, potty training and comfort in car rides are things we work on so pups can ease into their new lives as seamlessly as possible.
