What it is
Whole pumpkin (Cucurbita pepo) flesh that has been dried and milled into a powder. It is a whole-food source of dietary fibre, containing both soluble (pectin) and insoluble fractions.
Why it's used
Used as a dietary fibre source in dogs. Dietary fibre has established physiological roles in canine gastrointestinal function, including stool consistency, transit time, water handling in the colon and fermentation to short-chain fatty acids.
