About Gellert Kennel
Purposeful breeding.
Lifetime commitment.
Gellert Kennel is a small home-based kennel in Chilliwack, BC striving to fulfill our passion for Miniature Poodles. Our breeding program is centered on producing well-rounded Mini Poodles that excel as loving family companions while maintaining the qualities needed for success in the show ring.
Breeder Philosophy
How we breed — and why.
Why this breed
While we were breeding Mini Americans and LOVING them, we got the opportunity to welcome a Mini Poodle, Suzie into our family. We quickly fell in love with the breed and how perfect they are for families and elderly alike! Her easy temperament made her a joy to have in our home and ultimately it was the personality of mini poodles that I completely fell in love with. While Suzie is not part of her breeding program, she was the catalyst for a love I never thought would develop.
What sets us apart
While not every dog in our program will pursue titles, we carefully evaluate each pairing with the goal of preserving the breed’s integrity and versatility. Our dogs are raised in a family environment, ensuring they develop strong bonds with people and the balanced personalities that make the Mini Poodle such an exceptional companion.
Homes we look for
Whether as part of a busy family, or for a senior looking to settle down, our dogs are bred first and foremost to be healthy, reliable, and a joy to live with.
