Walking Wednesday: How the Paw Rewards Bonus Works
Learn how Walking Wednesday applies 2× Treats to qualifying tracked walks, what does not double and where to confirm the current Paw Quest rules.

Walking Wednesday gives an ordinary midweek dog walk a little extra momentum. When the feature is active inside a current Paw Quest, a qualifying completed walk can receive a Paw Quest bonus on top of the Treats it normally earns.
Quick answer: During an active Walking Wednesday, start a tracked Walk or Walk & Train in Paw Rewards, complete and save it, and check the reward summary. A qualifying walk that earns standard Treats receives a matching Quest bonus, bringing that activity to 2× Treats. Fixed campaign bonuses do not double, promotions do not stack beyond 2×, and Treat bonuses do not create extra contest entries.
Last reviewed: September 10, 2026. Walking Wednesday is a Paw Quest campaign feature, not a promise that every Wednesday will always be a bonus day. The live Quest screen and current rules are the final word on dates, eligibility and rewards.
How Walking Wednesday works
Paw Rewards uses Paw Quests to bring dog owners together around shared activities. Walking Wednesday is one recurring Quest mechanic: on an eligible Wednesday, the app applies a 2× multiplier to the standard Treats from each qualifying walk.
The calculation is simple. If a completed walk earns standard Treats, the Quest adds an equal top-up. The result is twice the standard Treat amount for that walk. You do not need to activate a separate coupon, enter a code or change the way you track the outing.
The important word is qualifying. A walk must be recorded, completed, saved and accepted by the app, and it must earn standard Treats before there is anything to double. Your account must also be eligible to earn Treats. A public account may still use parts of Paw Rewards and track activities, but it does not receive Treat rewards.
Current Paw Quest: September 1–30, 2026
For the current End of Summer Paw Quest, Walking Wednesday is active on Wednesdays during the September 1–30, 2026 campaign. The live Quest screen describes the benefit as 2× Treats on every qualifying walk that day.
This dated section reflects the campaign available when this guide was reviewed. Paw Quests can change, and a future campaign may use different dates, activities or eligibility requirements. Before heading out, open the current Quest in Paw Rewards and confirm that the Walking Wednesday message is visible.
What qualifies for the Walking Wednesday bonus?
A qualifying activity generally needs all of the following:
- An eligible Paw Rewards account. You must be signed in to an account that can earn Treats.
- An active Walking Wednesday. The bonus must be shown in the current Paw Quest when you complete the walk.
- A supported walking activity. A tracked Walk or Walk & Train can qualify. An eligible Adventure recorded as a walk follows the same walking multiplier.
- A completed and saved activity. Opening the tracker is not enough; the Adventure must be ended and saved successfully.
- A walk that earns standard Treats. If an activity earns no base Treats, there is no base amount for the Quest to match.
The live app makes the final eligibility decision. Distance, location quality, account status and the current Quest rules can all affect whether an activity is accepted. If you want a fuller walkthrough of the tracking process, use our guide to tracking dog walks with Paw Rewards.
How to join Walking Wednesday
- Open the current Paw Quest. Confirm that Walking Wednesday is active and read the displayed campaign details.
- Choose your dog. Make sure the correct dog is attached to the Adventure before you begin.
- Start a walking activity. Select Walk or Walk & Train from Adventures.
- Allow precise location. Wait for a reliable GPS signal before starting so the app can record your outing accurately.
- Take the walk your dog needs. Let weather, age, conditioning, health and your dog's comfort—not the bonus—set the pace and distance.
- End and save the Adventure. When you are finished, select End Adventure and complete the save process.
- Review the result. Check the completion screen and Treat history for the standard amount and any Walking Wednesday top-up.

What 2× Treats does—and does not—mean
Walking Wednesday doubles the standard Treats generated by a qualifying walk. It does not automatically double every reward connected to the campaign.
- Standard walk Treats: eligible for the matching Walking Wednesday top-up.
- Fixed Quest bonuses: not multiplied.
- Another 2× promotion: does not turn the activity into 4× Treats; bonuses do not stack beyond 2×.
- Contest entries: not doubled by the Treat multiplier.
- Daily contest limits or Passport requirements: unchanged.
This separation keeps the reward easy to understand. Walking Wednesday changes the Treat result for an eligible walk; it does not rewrite every other rule in the Paw Quest.
Treats and contest entries are separate
A Paw Quest can include both in-app Treat bonuses and contest-entry requirements. They are related to the same campaign, but they are not the same system.
For the September 2026 Quest, the official contest rules set their own requirements for a tracked walk to count as an entry, including a minimum tracked distance and a daily entry limit. Walking Wednesday does not double those entries or limits. A walk may therefore qualify for a Treat bonus without creating an additional contest entry, and the contest rules remain the authority for prize eligibility.
Always read the live Quest details and the linked official rules before participating in a contest. Dates, regional eligibility, entry methods and prize conditions are time-sensitive; this evergreen guide should not replace them.
Why did my walk not receive 2× Treats?
If the bonus does not appear, work through these checks:
- Confirm the campaign was active. Walking Wednesday only applies when it is shown in the current Paw Quest.
- Check your account eligibility. Public accounts can track activities but do not earn Treats.
- Make sure the Adventure was saved. An unfinished or discarded activity cannot be assessed as a completed walk.
- Review the standard reward. A walk that did not earn base Treats has no amount to double.
- Check location access. Weak GPS, disabled precise location or battery-saving restrictions can interrupt route tracking.
- Consider the completion time. If you finish close to midnight, the date recorded when the activity completes can determine whether the Wednesday bonus applies.
Do not repeat a walk in the app simply to chase a missing reward. If the Adventure appears complete and accepted but the bonus is absent, take a screenshot of the activity and contact Paw Rewards support so the team can review it.
Keep the walk right for your dog
A bonus is an invitation to participate, not a reason to push farther than is appropriate. Choose the route, pace and duration for the dog in front of you. Puppies, senior dogs, working dogs and dogs returning from illness or injury can have very different needs.
Check footing, temperature and air quality before you leave. During smoke events or poor conditions, consult Canada's Air Quality Health Index guidance and adjust the outing when needed. Follow local leash and access rules, carry water when appropriate, and prioritize your dog's safety over a streak or reward.
Walking Wednesday FAQs
Is Walking Wednesday available every Wednesday?
No. It is a Paw Quest campaign feature. Participate only when Walking Wednesday appears as active in the live app.
Does every walk earn double Treats?
No. The activity must be a qualifying completed walk, the account must be eligible to earn Treats, and the walk must earn standard Treats before the Quest can add a matching bonus.
Does Walk & Train qualify?
Yes, when it is recorded and accepted as an eligible walking activity under the active Quest rules.
Do fixed Quest bonuses double?
No. Walking Wednesday applies to the standard Treats from the qualifying walk, not to fixed bonuses.
Can two double-Treat promotions make a walk worth 4×?
No. Current Quest logic caps the effective activity multiplier at 2×.
Does Walking Wednesday give me extra contest entries?
No. The Treat multiplier does not double contest entries, entry limits or other campaign requirements.
